Two suspects, which authorities have declined to identify, are in custody following an altercation outside a Lakeside Jack in the Box restaurant.
According to a report from Sgt. Cliff Rinder, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Jack in the Box on the 12100 block of Woodside Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. on Tuesday (May 31) in response to a report of an unruly customer. On arrival, an adult female was escorted out of the restaurant, at which point she walked into the middle of the adjacent five-lane street.
After a deputy escorted the female from the middle of the road and attempted to place her in handcuffs, she became combative. At this point, according to Rinder, "a black male adult approached the deputies with a large cinder block in his hand, telling the deputies to let the female go."
After the deputy drew his weapon, the second suspect dropped the cinder block but "was still being aggressive," and after ignoring commands to drop to the ground was eventually subdued with the use of the deputy's taser.
Both suspects were taken into custody. The female is being held in a hospital for a mental health evaluation and the male was booked into jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

I guess our police forces have become so accustomed to using force they forgot you can out run a cinder block. It's not a weapon, it's a boat anchor.
It was not too long ago that the dirt bag would have been shot. Cops are not supposed to run away from a dangerous situation they are supposed to contain it. Your comment shows a lack of understanding of police work. I suggest that you go on a "ride along" and see for your self. The dirt bag was lucky that one of the deputies had a taser. Had he advanced on the officer with the cinder block he could have been shot.
Sebastian Caspary, this story is about a cinder block. The story also did not mention the strength of the person with the cinder block. I doubt anyone can throw one cinder block very far. And I think most agile people could dodge it. It seems police are getting more and more used to using force than using their brains. After watching the overwhelming misuse of force during the Trump visit, it's obvious people are growing tired of lazy cops and militarized forces that would prefer to inflict harm than to be patient. Some don't even have the brains to keep their pent up violent proclivities secret, by posting how they want a riot to break out on their social networking pages.
Ponzi - I used to think your comments had some intelligence behind them.
Cops have to be very clear and use their words for what they want a person to do. Probably shouldn't make threats with a cinderblock. Crazy.
