Beautiful Beast, fronted by lead vocalist and songwriter Jake Brewer (formerly of Borracho y Loco), will premiere their self-titled full-length at the Belly Up on Wednesday, January 27, though no CD or vinyl copies will be available. Instead, the band is enclosing a download code in copies of their comic book Aquavengers, with a cover drawn by underground comic artist Drew Toonz. The album contains 12 original songs, including an ode to actor Jan Michael Vincent, a rock epic about a sci-fi superhero named Jeff Ingram, and a love song to a dog named Jesus Santa Bunny.

Americana singer-songwriter Jake Loban is dropping his self-produced Chasing Fire album on February 4 at the Belly Up, on a bill that includes Morgan Leigh, Alex Woodard, and Rod Melanco. The album was written during Loban’s motorcycle travels along the West Coast.

The Donkeys will debut their Midnight Palms EP at Soda Bar on February 11; lead singles “Down the Line” and “Hurt Somebody” are now streaming online.

Vokab Kompany’s Good Kompany album premieres at the Music Box in Little Italy on February 26.
