Monday 12
Gilbert Castellanos will be leading a group to celebrate the inauguration of SD City Councilmember Chris Ward, with Lorraine Castellanos on vocals, Bob Boss on guitar, Dean Hulett on bass, and Kevin Higuchi on drums at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) from 5 to 7 p.m. Free.

Tuesday 13
KSDS Jazz Live presents an intimate duet concert with pianist Geoffrey Keezer and vocalist Gillian Margot with accompaniment from the Kate Hatmaker String Quartet. This all happens at the Saville Theatre (14th & C Streets) at 8 p.m. Free to all Jazz 88 members, $10 general admission.

Wednesday 14
The Jazz 88 blues jam gets cooking at Proud Mary’s Southern Bar & Grill (5500 Kearny Mesa Road) hosted by guitarist Mark Augustin and J. Otis Williams from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free and family-friendly… Gilbert Castellanos begins his double shift at Panama 66 when he hosts the Young Lions series at 6 p.m. this week featuring the Nick Caldwell Quartet with John Murray, Carmen Murray, and Brenda Greggio before leading the weekly jam session in the Copley Auditorium from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. All ages, no cover, musicians bring your horns!

Thursday 15
The Gary Rich Trio with Jeff Blanco on bass and Jason Shattil on piano lead a jam session at Harbor Music Hall (1506 India Street) from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. $10 gets you in… Bassist Mackenzie Leighton has a duo with guitarist Kevin Jones at the Bella Vista Caffe (2880 Torrey Pines Scenic Drive) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. No cover charge.

The Nathan Hubbard Trio with Kevin Jones and Jerome Salazar do the Happy Hour at the Handlery Hotel (950 Hotel Circle North) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All ages, no cover, validated parking… Besos de Coco with Lorraine Castellanos, Evona Wascinski, and Claudia Gomez play Panama 66 from 7 to 9 p.m. Free… Gilbert Castellanos presents jazz at the Westgate (1055 Second Avenue) with Rob Thorsen and Sam Hirsh from 8 to 11 p.m. $20 food/drink minimum.

The Joshua White Trio with Rob Thorsen and Duncan Moore interpret the works of Mary Lou Williams at the new Dizzy’s (1717 Morena Boulevard) at 8 p.m. $20 cash at the door… The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble with Jesse Audelo, Tim Felton, Pete Williams, Nick Costa, Sheryll Felton, Wili Fleming, Robert Dove, Matt La Barber, and Diego Velasquez play Winston’s (1921 Bacon) at 10 p.m. $8… The Reka Parker Trio + Leonard Patton with Jeff Blanco and Bob Daniels play Northern Spirits (727 W.
