Monday 11
Special farewell concert for vocalist/trombonist Lizzie Trombure will be held at the Reusch House (contact [email protected] for details) with Leonard Patton on cajon and vocals and Peter Sprague on guitar. Patton promises an event to remember. It all starts at 6:00 p.m. for a suggested $15 donation.

Wednesday 13
Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos begins his night hosting the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) with this week’s artist, drummer Ryan Shaw starting at 7:00 p.m. $5 cover. Then he’s off to the Jazz Jam Session at Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) with Joshua White on piano, Rob Thorsen on bass, and Duncan Moore on drums. Downbeat is at 9:00 p.m. 21+, free. Musicians bring your horns!

Thursday 14
Nathan Hubbard/Passengers with Hubbard on vibes, Dillon Casey on guitar, Brandon Relf on drums, Henry Wessman and Harley Magsino on bass dig in at Seven Grand from 9:00 p.m. to Midnight, no cover, 21+… Besos de Coco starring Lorraine Castellanos, Evona Wascinski and Claudia Gomez light up Croce’s Park West at 7:00 p.m. for a $5 cover.

Friday 15
Flugelhorn specialist Dmitri Matheny will be having a CD-Release party in celebration of Sagebrush Rebellion at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) with Nick Manson on piano, Justin Grinnell on bass and Duncan Moore on drums. Concert starts at 8:00 p.m. $20 tickets… The Tonga Ross-Ma’u Quintet will perform at 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner Boulevard) featuring Ross-Ma’u on guitar, Curtis Taylor on trumpet, Rana Tabrizi on vocals, Doug Walker on bass, and Charles Weller on drums at 8:00 p.m. $15 at the door… the Irving Flores Trio with Dean Hulett and Christopher Hollyday will be playing at the Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Avenue) from 8:00 p.m. No cover but there is a $20 food/drink minimum.

Saturday 16
The Joshua White Trio featuring Hamilton Price on bass, Joe LaBarbera on drums, and Johnaye Kendrick on vocals are playing the Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Festival (52500 Temecula Road) from 2:15 to 3:30. Check [idyllwildjazz.com][1] for tickets … the Steph Johnson Trio with Harley Magsino and Fernando Gomez perform at the 18th Annual Stone Brewery Festival at Cal State San Marcos from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.… Son Pa Ti with Alex Lopez, Mark Lopez, Alberto Diaz, and Pat Burke are at the Turquoise (873 Turquoise Street) from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. free!
