This weekend's turkey hunt at Santa Ysabel Preserve will go off without, or rather, with a bang, despite pleas from the Animal Protection and Rescue League to suspend the hunt.
According to a report from *Channel 10 News*, Judge Lorna Alksne said the two-day turkey hunt would not cause irreparable harm to the area.
"This is a safe place for people, plants and animals … it's shut down this weekend because they're shooting turkeys … that's irreparable harm," Pease told Channel 10 News.
The activist lawyer, and city council candidate for District 1, said the issue over insufficient environmental documents will be addressed at a later date.
