Baja Cop Messes Up

An off-duty Tijuana police officer, allegedly driving his green
Jeep Cherokee while under the influence of alcohol and speeding, struck
and killed a 37-year-old woman selling newspapers on a street corner on
Monday, February 23, the city’s secretary of public safety said.

At about 8:15 a.m., near the intersection of Díaz Ordaz and Simón Bolívar boulevards
, 37-year-old Norma Elizabeth Rodríguez Carrera was selling newspapers when police officer Fernando Vega Cruz, 30, lost control of his vehicle while
rounding the corner. The Jeep jumped the curb and hit Rodríguez. Investigators reported that Vega appeared to be drunk.
They said his Jeep also struck a parked tow truck.

According to the secretary of public safety, Officer Vega was assigned
to the investigative unit of the Cerro Colorado precinct. He was taken
to a hospital for examination, then turned over to the district
 attorney.

Mexico is lawless country. This is what the Republican party aspires to do to America. They are already re-distributing the wealth to the top 10% and ruining the middle class. How many yachts does a guy really need? I guess 9 or 13 or however many.

Multiculturalism, diversity...You're all a bunch of white racisists. Drunk driving is a cultural thang. If you protest this fact you are a racial profilist. You don't understand diversity. You are a racist. This was their land first anyhow. The evil white man stole it. They have every right as a diverse and multicultural force to kill the evil white man. Carrera was an American. As such, according to professors at UCSD and SDSU she was a tratior to her race. She therefore deserved to die to promote the cause of diversity and multiculturalism. Diversity...diversity...peversity...death.

eds that is the most unintelligent comment i have ever seen. you see "baja cop messes up" as a racial comment...(please correct me if my assumption is wrong about that) first off its a statement in truth, you are correct, drunk driving happens everywhere but he did MESS UP. there is no racial epithet in there.

second off Santiago traded his life for Texas and most of the southwest.

he did not want to die so he gave the U.S. the land. before Santiago came and began a war the united states citizens and Mexicans all lived together in Texas.

we did not steal it, i understand that if Santiago did not trade the land then we might have taken it or we might not of there's no way to be sure. if you argue that point you are saying that you know the future so please do not respond. i don't feel like losing more brain cells by reading your pathetic slander.

Eds, it is very apparent that you may have missed a few of your English classes in grade school. My three year old nephew has a more superior writing skill compared to yours. Your comment is irrelevant, pointless and poorly written. It is the people like you, with your narrow minded, ultra sensitive attitudes that cause all the racial tension in America. By the way, no one deserves to die in the name of diversity.

Wow. I read all 18 of your previous comments EDS. How can the guy that wrote this: http://www.sandiegoreader.com/songs/63/ be the same ass the wrote the rest of them.

You need a new hobby. - Joe
