On Wednesday, April 22, at around 3:00 p.m., three would-be burglars attempted a residential robbery on Pasadena Drive in the Mt. Nebo neighborhood of La Mesa. According to the homeowner's son, Dave, two males and one woman of Hispanic descent who had stolen a pickup truck in Chula Vista attempted to rob his elderly mother's home. Fortunately, his mother was not home at the time.

The trio parked the pickup in the driveway of the home, walked around the back, and smashed out a window to gain entry. A neighbor noticed the hooligans breaking the window from her yard and called the police.

Dave relates that La Mesa police were there within minutes, surprising all three burglars while they were still in the home. They were immediately arrested. The home was in disarray (presumably trashed while they searched for valuables), and many items had been removed. Everything taken seemed to have been recovered.

According to La Mesa police, the three individuals are in custody with specific charges pending.

Uh, huh. With a passing fondness for anagram as well as some French, I did have this one figured out.

I live in this area. Recently we have had someone jumping our back fence and sleeping in our pool house, leaving beer or vodka bottles and a pizza box. And then we had an older Mexican guy come to the front door to ask if he could look in the back for his Mother's plant. He said his brother used to live in our home and left the plant. Seriously? Our dog, who is usually a pussycat wanted to take the guys throat out. I think animals get a sense of what'sup with folks. When I asked the guy for his name and number and said I'd get back to him, he took off. "No thanks," he said and waived me away. He and his buddy drove off in a medium-sized, painted blue moving-type truck parked on the wrong side of the road. People are desperate more and more these days especially on the other side of the border. Don't tell me it is a good place to visit. If so, why are you all so eager to come here? The good thing about our neighborhood is we have not gotten too big to forget to look out for each other. We are watching you.
