In a recent report, SD police chief William Lansdowne said around 87 gangs with approximately 3500 members operate within San Diego. Many are referred to -- if not represented -- on MySpace pages.

2-11 Nayb4hood Crip from Southeast San Diego ("41st 47th blk") post their song "Make They Mama Cry" ("The punk-ass L.A. niggas trying to take over Day-go, but that ain't gonna happen 'cause we're cappin' it, we're laying niggas on their backs").

The page for VXIXIV VIIXIX XIII Violent 1 has songs credited to them, including color-coded Crip anthems such as "Bold Heads Blue Rags" ("Blast a punk witness, ain't no stopping this") and "Beware of the Blue" ("Workin' on that third strike...district attorney, remember me? I put my foot in your ass"). Several "friends" links lead to pages with people flashing gang signs and declaring regional gang allegiance.

The South Siderz music page not only includes gang signs and graffiti but also an apparent Sureno gang oath ("Kill a Norputo [rival gang], win a prize, kill a Sureno and your whole family dies").

Local rapper SMC posts a song called "Thug Love," which uses gunshots and trigger-cocking as percussion ("Pull your strap on me, nigga, you better kill me").

DS "RC" Music says he's a member of the DelSol South San Diego gang and flashes its sign in a picture amidst photos of guns. In "South Sid3 Season," he sings of his cousin being shot by a rival gangmember ("That loco motherfucker from 29th Street throwin' up his flag...it's not about Crip or Blood, it's about payback").
