Looking to get his legacy in order, a billionaire elevator magnate (Ray Wise) brings his four children together to announce he has 6 months to live. Not only are the children excluded from the will, if a vengeful dad has his way they’ll be written out of life altogether. The paranoid fantasy is structured like a video game complete with a replay option. An all-knowing entity who goes by the handle “Gamemaster” may intervene at any moment “to make the game more interesting.” Sadly, that moment of interest never arrives. As for logic and consistency, you’d best look elsewhere. Also hidden from sight is the need to animate. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, in this film that couldn’t have been achieved to the same effect with live-action. Stick puppets have more fluidity of motion than the director Jason Axinn's characters. Rated R for graphic violence and cartoon tits. Yawn! With the voice of William Shatner as "The Overseer." Think Rod Serling with more pregnant pauses than a Paul Harvey marathon. Available for download or on blu-ray. (2019) — Scott Marks
