Soft-core sex show (with an even mushier heart underneath) from Zalman King, the American Just Jaeckin, centered on the orphan of a Chet Baker-ish trumpet player, a moonfaced mopey adolescent (Nina Siemaszko, dead ringer for the young Gloria Grahame) who finds a home in that pornographic staple, the Whorehouse Beautiful -- "the finest French wines, Waterford crystal, Egyptian cotton sheets pressed to perfection." Many giggles for the sophisticate, balanced by sincere grimaces on behalf of the overqualified Wendy Hughes as Madam Elle. No connection with the original Wild Orchid, except through the "vision" of writer-director King. (1991) — Duncan Shepherd
