Parker Posey, a Geraldine Chaplin-esque broomstick, with a baseless star-is-born narcissism, is the titular fun-seeker by night, library clerk by day, and falafel eater by lunch break -- as well as flirter with the handsome Lebanese street vendor who introduces her to the myth of Sisyphus. ("I think I'm an existentialist," she decides after perusing Camus's essay. "I do.") As a character study, this is a light skim, prone to a wandering mind and doodling in the margins. Informative about the clothes and music of the Manhattan club scene of the Nineties, but superficial in that way and all ways. With Anthony DeSando, Donna Mitchell, Omar Townsend; directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer. (1995) — Duncan Shepherd
