They've stolen the idea from Fantastic Voyage -- a manned vessel microscopically miniaturized and injected into a man's body -- but then they've run with it in so completely different a direction as to escape prosecution. The trouble (not to say crime) is that this different direction is too far outside, too literally external to, the original idea: espionage, a rocky romance, slapstick car chases, slapstick other things. Some of the interior special effects are more successful than the Fantastic ones, but this is only a superficial advantage. With Martin Short, Dennis Quaid, and Meg Ryan; written by Jeffrey Boam and Chip Proser; directed by Joe Dante. (1987) — Duncan Shepherd
