Cross-cultural interracial lesbian teen romantic comedy. One of the girls is a rock-and-rolling, pot-smoking, math-failing, blue-collar tomboy, the other an opera-listening, poetry-reading, college-bound, spoiled little rich girl. On the one hand, we're supposed to notice that these two girls in love are just like two anybodies in love. On the other hand, if we didn't notice their "differentness," there wouldn't be much else in their rudimentary romance -- slow-motion glances, exchanged notes, giggling, etc. -- worthy of notice at all. The enthusiastic actresses, Laurel Holloman and Nicole Parker, are stretched to their limits, and in the age department a bit beyond their limits. Written and directed by Maria Maggenti.
