Children abide (or don’t) in this week’s new movie releases, including The Florida Project and Goodbye Christopher Robin
Matthew Lickona 3 p.m., Oct. 20
Amazon princess (former beauty queen Laura Herring) comes to America to save her forest from a multinational petroleum corporation ("You're talking about the hole in the ozone! That's important to everyone!"), teaches a Beverly Hills playboy the lambada, and wins a dance contest in order to deliver her message on nationwide television. Lots of low-camp amusement. (The level is set very plainly by that grade-Z bad guy, Sid Haig, as a hairless Brazilian witch doctor: "Ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-YAAAAH!") With Jeff James; directed by Greydon Clark. 1990.
