This documentary "Faithfully" records how Filipino singer Arnel Pineda landed a gig as the lead singer for Journey and led the classic rock band on a hugely successful tour. Discovered on YouTube by guitarist Neil Schon, Pineda flies to LA and goes through a rough initial audition. But the old pros "Don't Stop Believin'," and Pineda quickly justifies their faith. Some band members also worry how he will respond to the Bright "Lights" of show business. But again, Pineda proves that he can perform "Any Way You Want It," and longtime fans welcome him with "Open Arms." Through it all Pineda stays grounded — he doesn't tell his family, "I'll be Alright Without You." It's a happy story: a young man's Escape from crushing poverty, his Evolution from lounge singer to rock star, and his Journey to new Frontiers. But in no way is there enough material here for a feature-length film. 2013.
