Picasso at the Lapin Agile
Comedian Steve Martin's wacky comedy has Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein meet in a bar in Paris in 1904, as each is on the verge of career-defining innovations. The two geniuses, along with the bar patrons, debate art, science, inspiration, love, and the promise of the 20th Century. Boasting a strong cast and creative team at the Old Globe, Picasso is a play of ideas and Martin's particular brand of comedy — over the top, zany, cerebral, and low-brow all at once. Worth a try.
