Escondido Arts Partnership is proud to present Nudes & Fruit a new exhibition of paintings and drawings by local San Diego artist Adrian Stewart in the Expressions Galleries, 262 East Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025 with a public reception with wine and fruit on Saturday June 9, 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm. These evocative pastels, drawings and vibrant watercolors capture the juiciness of fresh ripe fruit and juxtaposes this work with drawings, pastels and studies of life models where the work portrays the character and beauty of the models, together they echo the radiance of natural forms. “ Artists for millennia have sought to explore the resonance and alliteration between the effects of light that falls on fresh ripe fruit and the same light and shadow falling on the model's form.” says Stewart. “I wanted to explore that combination of color and form and bring them together in a single expression.” Adrian Stewart is a local San Diego artist whose work has been exhibited in galleries throughout San Diego County and in his native country Scotland.
