“Finding treasures where I least expect to and turning them into a representation of who I am makes my clothes all that more special”

Gifted director Darko Tresnjak has turned Cole Porter's iconic musical into "Kate's Revenge." The excellent Anastasia Barzee sings the great songs and goes on a codpiece-bash and scores many a palpable hit. Porter (and Shakespeare) wrote in code. The production decodes the text with a brassy, unfettered swagger. Though almost too loud at times, the voices are excellent (especially Mike McGowan's Fred/Petrruccio, and Megan Sikora's Bianca/Lous Lane), and the physical shtick is tops. And Peggy Hickey's choreography of "Too Darn Hot" is a scorcher. Critic's Pick.
