Stars at Kumeyaay Lake Campground

Join members from the San Diego Astronomy Association at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Parking Lot to view the nighttime sky through telescopes. Set up at dusk in the day-use parking lot, which is just to the right after you enter the campground. Full moon rises shortly after sunset. Look for bright object, like Jupiter and Venus. This would be a nice night for a double star hunt: Mizar/Alcor, Cor Caroli, Albeba. This would be fun since the famous galaxies in Leo will be hard to find with the bright moon. Maybe catch a last look at the Orion Nebbula setting in the West.
