Local Youth Theatre Celebrates Dr. Seuss Day with Seussical the Musical
From the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, beloved Dr. Seuss characters will leap off the page and onto the stage as Young Actors' Theatre presents Seussical at the Samuel M. Ciccati Theatre at Cuyamaca College.
Performed by talented young actors, Seussical weaves together classic Dr. Seuss tales including Horton Hears a Who!, The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and more into one colorful, high-energy production bursting with imagination, heart, and fun.
This joyful production comes at the perfect time, aligning with Dr. Seuss Day (March 2)—a nationwide celebration that encourages children to discover the magic of reading. The timing is especially meaningful here in San Diego, as Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) was a longtime local resident of La Jolla, where much of his iconic work was inspired and created.
With toe-tapping songs, vibrant costumes, and a message about kindness, loyalty, and believing in yourself—even when the world says you’re too small—Seussical the Musical is perfect for families, schools, and audiences of all ages.
