Guided Evening Nature Walks
Two Father Junípero Serra Trail, San Diego, 92119
Cost: Free
Join MTRP Trail Guides on an evening nature walk around Kumeyaay Lake and learn about the plants, animals, geology, and history of the park. These special summer walks start from the Kumeyaay Lake Campground Shade Structure shortly before sunset on several Saturdays during the summer. Walks are free and open to the public, with no reservations required. Please park in the dirt lot at the corner of Father Junipero Serra Trail and Bushy Hill Dr. across from the campground. The trail is easy but has uneven surfaces and crosses a pontoon bridge so be sure to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Don't forget to bring along a flashlight and an extra layer of clothing -- it often cools down after the sun sets. Walks are canceled if raining.
