Since 2018, this International Dark Sky Park connects visitors to a starry night sky and our solar system through education and activities. Solar viewing takes place at the Visitor Center from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon through a special filtered solar telescope. At nighttime from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Borrego Palm Canyon Campground Campfire Center, the final Star Party of the season in honor of International Dark Sky Week. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park staff and volunteers connect visitors to the cosmos with assistance from members of the San Diego Astronomy Association.
