Join members from the San Diego Astronomy Association at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Parking Lot to view the nighttime sky through telescopes. Set up at dusk in the day-use parking lot, which is just to the right after you enter the campground. Sept 5 has a big bright 96 percent moon and the planets are returning. You can locate Alberio and the bright clusters (pictured) and Saturn has returned, rising in the East at 7:52. Cancellations due to weather may occur.
