The choir, instrumentalists, children’s choir, bells, and special readers will all be a part of an afternoon of music and presentation of Joseph Martin’s “Appalachian Winter.” Composed in the spirit of folk music, this cantata includes popular American carols, traditional spirituals, Shaker hymns, and Appalachian melodies. Thoughtful narration weaves the movements together in a meaningful tapestry of song and Scripture. A program for all ages, this promises to be an afternoon of joyful music and celebration, with refreshments to follow.
