In this class, you will be painting figures or objects in an abstract and expressive way. Form, mood, and emotional impact will be our primary concerns. Look to works by artists such as Richard Diebenkorn, David Park, and Nathan Oliveira for inspiration.
Materials: Paints: acrylics, oils, or watercolors; I use acrylics.
Supports: heavy duty paper, canvas board, canvas, raw canvas, etc.—your choice.
Other: brushes; water can; paper towels or rags; palette; any experimental tools you wish.
Optional: Bring reference materials.
