CentroameriCanto Fest
Centroamericanto Fest (CACFest) is a cultural festival that started in Austin Texas more than a decade ago to showcase the music of Central America in the United States. CACFest will feature more artists than ever from each Central American country. It will be broadcast for free, with registration required to receive the streaming link via e-mail. CentroameriCanto Fest 2020 will broadcast online from Austin, Texas to celebrate the Central American Culture. Salvadoran singer-songwriter Mauricio Callejas will release his music video “Un Día Más,” a song dedicated to families in quarantine.
Headlining the artist roster is powerhouse Fabiola Roudha, Guatemalan singer winner of several international competitions; Belizean music legend Pen Cayetano; singer-songwriters Alberto Laínez from Proyecto Aullador de Honduras; Luis Pastor, renowned Nicaraguan singer-songwriter; marimba player Melena from Guanacaste Costa Rica; Mai-Elka Prado, Afro-Panamanian singer-songwriter from New York; dances by “Folklore y Ritmos de Panamá”; and Salvadoran Mauricio Callejas, singer-songwriter and founder of the festival. In addition to the live music, the festival will premiere two important productions. First, the music video of “Un Día Más” by Mauricio Callejas, a song dedicated to quarantined families, filmed and produced in Guatemala. The second premiere will be a posthumous music tribute to the Nicaraguan singer- songwriter Salvador Bustos who died earlier this year, Joining the tribute artists such as Katia Cardenal from Nicaragua, Carlos Cabrera from El Salvador, among others.
