Restore River Habitat
You can help improve habitat for wildlife along the San Diego River! Kids can help restore habitat by removing non-native, invasive plant species, clearing the way for native species to reclaim their niche, which promotes a healthy river ecosystem for the plants and animals that call our river home. Volunteer tasks include chopping, hauling, digging, trimming, and more. After removing invasive plants, kids will get to make and toss native seed “bombs” around Mission Valley Preserve! These seed bombs will ensure that the habitat is loaded with the seeds of native plants, increasing the likelihood of native species bouncing back after the next rain! This event is part of River Kids Discovery Days.
