USD Conversations: What Is Defunding the Police?
All over the world from, San Diego
Join the University of San Diego weekly for "USD Conversations" where faculty, alumni and friends share their insights around current events and timely themes. This event is free and all are welcome to join the Zoom conversation. Associate Professor Cid Martinez, PhD, from USD's Department of Sociology, plus San Diego community partners, will define the "Defunding the Police" movement. Moderated by College of Arts and Sciences dean, Noelle Norton, PhD, the conversation will provide a history of community activism and policing policies, background information on police reform, and the current defund movement and how it relates to the abolition movement.
