The City of Santee will be hosting the inaugural Santee Sunset 5K so the public can walk or run in the footsteps of Olympians. The 5K course will be the same as the USATF 50km Race Walking course that professional athletes just competed on to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Race Walking team in the Tokyo 2020 games that morning. The USATF 50km Olympic Trials will be from 7:30am-2:30pm (free continental breakfast from 7:30am-9:30am). The Sunset 5K will follow from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Registration opens October 21st, and prices vary by age. Race entry includes: t-shirt, cupcake, commemorative tote, and one beer (for participants 21 & up, ID required). This is a fun run/walk and will not be sanctioned or timed. No bibs or medals will be supplied. All ages and fitness levels welcome, bring the whole family.
