For 46 consecutive years, Christ Church of San Diego in South Park has celebrated Martin Luther King Jr's life and works. Since the year 1974, over a decade before the day was even considered to be a national holiday by President Ronald Reagan, Pastor Robert Ard and the community in San Diego celebrated Dr. King's life together at Christ Church of San Diego. This year marks the 46th annual celebration of Dr. King's life, which represents the Nations longest consecutive celebration of Dr. King in the country (possibly the world). Each year since 1974, the community has gathered on Dr. King's birthday, to unite under a common belief of Equality For All.
