Deuterium Jazz Quartet
“The Pleasure of Your Company” music series presents Deuterium, which has been pleasing listeners since 2001 with their mix of classic jazz and new pieces. Led by pianist Yasha Susuoff, the group also includes Gregg Carpenter on bass, Diego Armijo on saxophone, and Dan Lancelot on drums. All are versatile musicians adept with a wide range of musical styles. Yasha Susuoff, a veteran of jazz, bar and Tex-Mex bands who has backed up a number of famous musicians, is also a current member of the show band The Legends. Gregg Carpenter attended Berklee College of Music and has toured with bands ranging from jazz to soul-funk. Diego Armijo studied music at the University of New Mexico; he plays pop, rock, soul, blues and jazz and is a regular at the Baja Blues Festival. Dan "Dano" Lancelot, best known as a founding member of RCA recording artist Gloritone, currently performs in his band, Dano's Island Sounds, and continues to write instrumental music for film and television.
