Grid Alternatives
From San Ysidro to Escondido, Barrio Logan to Julian, GRID Alternatives is bringing the power of solar electricity to low-income families roof top by roof top at the rate of about two homes a week. And they do it all with the help of community volunteers and job trainees who can use the experience to help them get jobs in the rapidly growing solar industry. GRID Alternatives' vision is a successful transition to clean, renewable energy that includes everyone. Their mission is to make renewable energy technology and job training accessible to underserved communities. Join us to hear about this remarkable nonprofit, the work they do and the impact they are having, not only on the families who are benefiting from the solar installations but also on the individuals who are gaining valuable on the job training and skills. There will be time for questions from the audience. This free event is hosted by the North County Climate Change Alliance and the Vista Public Library.
