Banned Books/Banned Lives
In this year's free Banned Books/Banned Lives event, we are giving the microphone to members of the local LGBT community so that they can address--via poetry, prose, and the spoken word--the rolling back of their rights and protections in the current American moment. We have booked Grossmont students and faculty, as well as some of our neighbors off-campus to be part of the show: Professor Karl Sherlock, the Grossmont College Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Club, led by Gigi Andrews, community member Charlie Sale, and the Asylum of the Tortured Heart's Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a drag queen performance and queer advocacy group. Afterwards, there will be a brief Q&A. Email: [email protected] for a free parking code. The event will take place in Building 60 (Griffin Gate).
