Chalk Impressionism
340 N. Escondido Boulevard, Escondido, 92025
Cost: Free
Radicals in their time, early Impressionists broke the rules of academic painting. They constructed their pictures from freely brushed colors that became more important than lines and contours. Taking inspiration from French Impressionist Edgar Degas’ later work, and daring to break the rules a little further, soft chalk pastels will be used to achieve an impressionistic “painting” of a tulip. Enjoy the exhibition on view, Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist, Works on Paper by the Artist and his Circle, for free after your lesson.
