Sleepless Service Day
The Rescue Mission has partnered with the Downtown Fellowship to make a hands-on difference in our community, including impacting the lives of our homeless community. Individuals invited to partake in Sleepless Service Day include all participants and volunteers from the Rescue Mission’s Sleepless San Diego event which took place at the beginning of September. The Sleepless Service Day will include a cleanup of downtown San Diego consisting of trash pickup, graffiti cleanup and gum scraping. Participants will also pass out hygiene kits, puppy packs and blankets to individuals living on the streets. Each of these items will also contain information about the Rescue Mission’s intake and downtown programs. Over 100 participants will meet at Faultline Park in East Village, located at 14th and J Street, to begin their day of service. The event will raise awareness of homelessness and educate San Diegans on ways they can help individuals living on the streets.
