The Climate is Changing, So Should We
The local United Nations Association (UNA USA San Diego) is hosting experts from local government, nonprofit and private industry for its Panel Discussion Our Planet. Our Future | The Climate is Changing, So Should We. The open discussion is moderated by UNA USA San Diego's youth member, Elea Castiglione, one of the high school student leaders recently in the media on local Climate Walkout. And the keynote by NASA Earth Scientist, Dr. Erika Podest is followed by remarks from Senior Human Rights Advisor at U.N. Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Chris Mburu and panel of local experts. Panelists from the City of San Diego, San Diego Airport Authority, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Surfrider Foundation (see website for speaker list). Senior Advisor to the United Nations Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights, Chris Mburu will receive this year's Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award. The discussion is followed by a dinner reception to allow audience and panelists to connect and network. Join the discussion on local efforts and best practices on resiliency and sustainability especially as these relate to the imminent climate crisis.
