Fall Camps
Give your kids something to look forward to on their Fall break with the Fleet's Tinkering and Technology Camps. Students in Grades 1–3 can enjoy experimenting with movie special effects, exploring the world of virtual reality and making their own videos. All camps are full day. Students can sign for a single camp or get the entire experience by signing up for all three. Science Fiction Special Effects November 25 Use science fiction as an inspirational tool to create your own galactic adventure. Campers will build self-propelled moving scribble bots, design hovercrafts, and create movie special effects with dry ice. VR Tech Tools November 26 Explore the world of virtual reality and coding through hands-on activities that make basic coding concepts fun and interactive. Campers will work in teams to construct and program robots to perform to complete an obstacle course. Lights, Camera, Action November 27 Campers will learn about optics such as long and short exposure photography, and light and color movement through prisms. This will help them better understand the filming techniques they'll need to direct their own mini- and stop-motion videos with friends. Members: $60 Nonmembers: $65 Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
