Garden of the Dead Remembered
3205 Olive Street, Lemon Grove, 91945
Cost: Free
The Lemon Grove Historical Society continues its "History Alive" series with historian Alexander Bevil on "Presidio Park's El Jardin del Rey, the Forgotten Garden of the Dead." Bevil relates the true story behind the sacrifices made by San Diego's forgotten pioneers, who are buried in the "Garden of the Dead" at the foot of Presidio Park. The City doesn't identify or promote the significance of this cemetery, but Bevil is determined to resurrect the names of those hitherto "known only to God" as Fr. Junipero Serra said.
