The free Discovery Concert Series at the Rancho Bernardo Branch Library presents Women Composers Then and Now. The program will include Three Romances for Violin and Piano by Clara Schumann, composed in 1853, and will be performed by Wendy Loeb (violinist) and Fontaine Laing (pianist). Joan Sweet (harpist) will perform two pieces for harp, composed by Kim Robertson and Monica Stadler, both living composers. Plus, Dr. Madelyn Byrne, professor at Palomar College and composer of many works, will present a demonstration of her compositions.
