A Family Friendly Event The Julian Dance and Back Country BBQ is held at the Menghini Winery at 1150 Julian Orchard Dr. on Saturday June 15th. The event opens at 12 p.m. and gates close at 9 p.m. It’s an old-fashioned country event that harkens back to a simpler time. It is held outdoors where there is a huge dance floor and stage. 13th Annual Julian Dance & Backcountry BBQ “Dance” features the best in country music and dancing on the huge floor and stage built by the Sons of the American Legion. Fabulous BBQ has been a keystone of the event with all the food cooked on-site in the Santa Maria style on an open oak flame. 2019 Bands Three Chord Justice Brad Johnson and Killin' Time The BIG FAT STEVE BAND 'The wholesome family event is staged each year in a beautiful mountain setting at the Menghini Winery in Julian. With separate events for kids in their own area the “Dance” is a throwback to a simpler time with twinkly lights and bonfires back-dropped by dark mountain skies. It’s an event where locals and guests from "down the hill" get together for a great time and raise funds for a great cause AIR GUITAR COMPETITION - Kids Under 10 Division Kids Under 17 Division Immature Adult Division Information and tickets for the event are available online at www.juliandance.org Prices are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the gate. Kids 16 and under are $5.00 at the gate only. Parking is free. Reserved tables for 6 or 8, which include entry, meals a bottle of wine under a canopy are available until June 1st. This charitable event in its 13th year is sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion in Julian. Pets and coolers are not allowed into the event. There will be an ATM on site.
