Adventures in Point of View
We’ll do a lot of in-class writing during this hands-on workshop. We’ll choose a character and a point of view. Then we’ll write a scene through that character’s eyes. As we switch viewpoints, we’ll see how the same events take on different meanings and create different reader experiences. We’ll explore the ways point of view engages or distances the reader and see how point of view can emerge as voice. Some lecture on point of view; mainly in-class writing and discussion. If you have questions about the point of view of a work in progress, please bring a sample for in class brainstorming. With Carolyn Wheat
