Celebrate Poetry Month
Poets at the Bench will be celebrating National Poetry Month and our one year anniversary. The poetry has been inspiring and it's been a blessing welcoming new poets, returning poets, and supporting one another through our creative journey. Please join Poets at the Bench this month and experience the community of sharing and listening to poetry. Bring a friend, bring a chair or blanket, bring some poems to read, or share poems of a favorite author. Readings at the Poetry Bench are open to all poets and is a safe place to share your work and enjoy a hidden corner of our beloved Balboa Park. We are a judge free zone, no sign-up sheet, no microphone, no critiques. All listeners and appreciators are welcome. There is a poetry drop off box, so please bring a poem to put into the slot. You can find us on our facebook page, Poets at the Bench. If you have any questions or would like to be added to our email list, please contact Deborah at [email protected]. Location: on the west side of the Laurel Street Bridge in Balboa Park. The Poetry Bench is near the intersection of Quince and 6th Avenue, north of the bridge. Balboa Drive and 6th Avenue run parallel to one another, and there is free parking on both streets. A playground is to the north, and Quince is just south of the bench.
