Identity/Antiquity Opening Reception
An opening reception will be held to celebrate the exhibition for April-May of 2019 at the Athenaeum Art Center in Logan Heights. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibition is entitled “Identity/Antiquity” and features works by college educators Alessandra Moctezuma and Hilary Paul McGuire. Moctezuma’s and McGuire’s works are linked by a common need to express ideas based on their experiences as art educators. For both artists, art is a way to enhance everyday life and to explore means of communicating responses to current socio-political events. The exhibition will feature drawing, painting, mixed media, and sculpture, and will be on view from April 16 through May 30, 2019. An artist walk-through is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, at 7 p.m.
