My Journey Through French Cinema
Tournées French Film Festival Documentary (2016, 3 hr. 21 min.) Filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier examines the great directors, actors, writers, composers and cinematographers of French cinema, including Jean Renoir, Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Pierre Melville, Edmond T. Gréville and Guy Gilles. The French Program in the International Languages Department at MiraCosta College was awarded with the Tournées Film Festival grant, a program of the FACE Foundation, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, to bring French cinema to American college and university campuses. Tournées Film Festival reflects the diversity and the richness of French cinema through various genres—fiction, documentary, animation and repertory films—giving participants the opportunity to expand their programming and for audiences to experience French cinema through a wider lens.
