Harp & Friends
Harp and Friends performance will feature Shakespeare to Sondheim and Disney to Debussy, creating a unique odyssey across genres of literature and music. "We welcome you to join us on a journey across genres. We will explore underlying themes of love, nature and feeling through contrasting works of literature and music," Stefan Wendel explains. "Though style and form may vary, each work of art attempts to capture the same singular source-- the human experience."
The program is comprised of the group's favorite pieces and their original compositions, collaboratively woven and presented by harp, flute, piano, and vocals. The group features Wendel, who studied harp at the Royal Academy of Music in London and performs in the San Diego area, Kristen Kort, principal flute of the San Diego City Ballet Orchestra and Opera NEO, Benjamin Reed, who studied classical voice and piano at the Eastman School of Music and is active in the local music and theater community, Daniel Myers, a performance artist who has appeared at the San Diego Repertory Theatre and San Diego Opera, and Becca Lauren Myers, a theatre artist who has performed at many venues throughout the San Diego area.
The concert will be in the second floor community room at the library.
