OB Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off
Who: Ocean Beach MainStreet Association What: Join more than 70,000 visitors for an oceanfront chili cook-off, five stages of continuous live music and entertainment, the community mural project, Artists Alley, carnival rides and games, food and vendor booths, a beachside beer garden and more. The one-of-a-kind Hodad’s Burger-Eating Competition will offer contestants a chance to be featured on the Hodad’s Wall of Fame in Ocean Beach. The chili competition will feature more than two dozen tastings from amateur and restaurant entrants competing in separate categories for the titles of Hottest Chili, Judges’ Awards and the grand prize: People’s Choice Award. Tastings can be purchased for $2 per chili entry, or attendees can buy a Master Ticket to try every recipe for $20. Free trolley services will run from the Knights of Columbus parking lot on Bacon Street between W. Point Loma Boulevard and Voltaire Street (every 30 minutes) and the parking lot at the intersection of Sea World Drive and Pacific Coast Highway (every hour) from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit www.OceanBeachSanDiego.com.
