National City native and poet Esteban Ismael is an instructor with San Diego Continuing Education, with an MFA from the University of Michigan. Among his recent accomplishments is a First Place poetry prize from the literary journal "Dogwood"; and publication credits in Hawai’i Review, Spillway, Poetry Daily, and Crab Orchard Review, among other fine journals. Co-featuring with Esteban at the podium is north county poet John Garry, author of two chapbooks who will be relocating to the Bay area after his Escondido swan song this afternoon. An open mic for everyone on the sign-up board follows our two guest authors
