Writing Workshop for Middle School Kids
Are you a middle school student, ages 11 to 14? Are you interested in writing? Do you write poems or screenplays or articles or graphic novels or regular novels or journal entries or blog posts or short stories? …Or… do you write nothing at all, because it’s kind of scary? Do you ever tell yourself: “Maybe I’ll write my story someday?” Maybe Saturday, June 2, will be your “Someday.” Come join author and teacher Sally J. Pla for a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves writing workshop. It’ll be structured just like the professionals. Bring your best game. Your best work. Or ideas for that work. Come ready for give-and-take, sharing, feedback, and lots of inspiration. Come ready to tell your story. I’ll be there to help you find the words. Participants may bring paper copies (say, 8 copies) of a short selection of a writing (2-3 pages is fine). This is your chance to get truly helpful feedback from your fellow writers and a professional author.
