RV Homeless & Disabled Protest
On Thursday, July 26, 2018, there will be a hearing in the Federal Class Action Lawsuit filed on behalf of homeless and disabled people who live in their vehicles due to lack of housing. The hearing concerns Plaintiffs' motion for a preliminary injunction which seeks a court order to stop the ticketing and impounding of vehicles during the time the litigation is pending.
The ticketing being challenged is under two City of San Diego ordinances:
1. The ordinance prohibiting habitation in one's vehicle;
2. An ordinance prohibiting all night-time parking of RVs anywhere on city streets and lots between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
To show support for this Preliminary Injunction on ticketing and impoundment of vehicles, we are picketing and holding a rally. The court hearing is at 2:00 p.m. Residing is Judge Battaglia , courtroom 4A.
