San Diego Pride 5k Run & Walk
The annual charity Pride 5k Race and Walk is held along the Pride Parade route through Hillcrest and Balboa Park. The crowds begin to form at 9:30 when the 5k begins so you'll have a lot of spectators and cheering to help you achieve your goals! http://www.frwsd.org/pride-5k/race-information The beneficiaries for the event are the San Diego Center’s Youth Housing Project and San Diego LGBT Pride’s Community Grants program. Every participant will receive a beautiful, top-quality, short-sleeve shirt (available in men's and women's cuts). Course Support: Portable restrooms are available at the registration staging area; water will be served at the start, the finish and at one location on the course; First Aid will be available at the start and finish. After you cross the finish line, treat yourself to some delicious goodies! Race Day Parking and Shuttles: Race day parking is available throughout the neighboring streets however, it will be BUSY! Be sure to give yourself an extra thirty to forty-five minutes travel time before the race. We also strongly suggest you carpool, bike or walk if possible. FREE PARKING LOTS ON SATURDAY at the Old Naval Hospital at Park Blvd. & Presidents Way and San Diego City College. Volunteer Opportunities: Every year, we need approximately 25-30 volunteers. You can volunteer and still run or walk the Pride 5K!
